• 1. Explain the task process and the desired outcomes to students
• 2. Group up the students (groups of 4-6) and assign the roles (one police officer, two witnesses, two
suspects)
• 3. Distribute the worksheet
• 4. You can initially act out as a model
• 5. Give them 10-15 minutes to work in groups
• 6. Walk to all groups, answer their questions, and note down their errors
• 7. Ask some of the groups to act it out
• 8. Ask the police officer of the other groups to present their reports
• 9. When one police officer presents the report, ask other students to listen and take notes. Then check
their listening comprehension.
• 10. Don’t interrupt the students. Just note down their errors
• 11. Praise them for their strengths and work on the most frequent errors
