اسلاید 1: Water Cooling Calculations10
اسلاید 2: COOLING TANKS AND STRUCTURES GENERAL POINTS1. 10 litres per square metre, per minute of water is the effective cooling requirement.2. It is accepted that only the exposed surface of a tank or structure needs cooling, hence the 1/3 as a figure in the calculations.3. On no account should cooling water be applied to a floating roof so as to avoid the tipping of the roof.4. It should be remembered that water will also be required for spray protection and foam application.
اسلاید 3: FIXED ROOF TANKS1/3 of total tank surface at a rate of 10 litres, per square metre, per minute. r (roof) + d h (side) x 10 = Litres per minute 3 FLOATING ROOF TANKS1/3 of total tank surface, excluding roof, at a rate of 10 litres, per square metre, per minute. d h (side) x 10 = Litres per minute 3 ( 10 litres, per square metre, per minute; The amount of water required for effective cooling.)FORMULA FOR WATER COOLING (1)2***
اسلاید 4: FORMULA FOR WATER COOLING (2)Crude Oil Tank (15m High x 15m Diameter) 707 x 10 = 2356 Litres per minute 3Naptha Tank (12m High x 6m Diameter)28 + 226 x 10 = 847 Litres per minute 3Hydrochloric Acid Tank (12m Diameter x 14m High)113 + 528 x 10 = 2137 Litres per minute 3
اسلاید 5: Foam Requirement Calculations11
اسلاید 6: FOAM CALCULATION (1) V = A x R x C x T 100 V = MINIMUM foam concentrate. ( in litres ) A = Area of application . ( in square metres ) R = Rate of application of foam SOLUTION. (litres per square metre, per minute) C = Concentrate percentage. ( i.e. 3 or 6 % ) T = Time duration of application. ( in minutes, and is minimum time)‘A’ should be calculated first, using the following formula.A = area of application (d² x 0.8)‘R’ and ‘T’ are variables and are taken from tables appropriate for task. (see BS5306:part 6.1:1988) which covers low and medium expansion foam.
